The NABA season is beginning to wrap up, and this time next week we will have a 2019 NABA champion team. With only 6 teams remaining, the hopes and dreams of so many NABA players- and coaches- have been shattered. But there were some very exciting games in the past week. In an elimination game early Tuesday night, Junior Kevin Schott pulled up, literally, draining a 3 with just seconds remaining to keep Team Bjorklund alive and sending Team Miller home until next year.

After an extremely pitiful Regular season, Team Zemet managed to win their first playoff game, then lost their next two hard fought games, both by small amounts.

And After pulling off a huge upset against Team Hendrickson, Team Gwaltney had the momentum on their side, with NABA legend Emmett Gwaltney draining from all over the place, Tyler Mangone and his monster self terrorizing the Paint, and the Great Wall of Japan, Mafumi terrorizing everyone with his superb defense. Unfortunately, Team Gwaltney met their demise against Team Orwell Thursday night and Tyler Pullen left the gym with some harsh words for the refs.

As for the teams left, team medic is easily the favorite and can be expected to get an Easy Win against Team cook to advance to the championship on Thursday. As for the losers bracket, every team has a chance, but my favorites to get there are team Orwell or Team Visconti, who both have solid depth throughout their team and who also gives fair playing time to every single one of their players. Time will tell, but it should be an exciting last week of the greatest sport ever.

This week begins NASH’s Biennial Prom Dress Collection.  Please consider cleaning out your closet, or asking your sister to clean out hers, and get rid of those beautiful dresses that will never be worn again.  The donation drive will be running from February 11th through March 11th.  Come on now, you know you will never wear that dress again.  Give it another chance to hit the dance floor and make some girl really happy.  Please consider donating old prom gowns, accessories like jewelry or evening bags and dress shoes.  Tell your friends, their moms or anyone you can think of to spread the word. We could really the help to make someone’s evening special.  Prom donations can be dropped off in Mrs. Perry’s room 313.
