“I was driving into work, and I heard on the news a report that a plane had flown into one of the twin towers. At that point, nothing else was really said or known about it, so I didn’t think a lot about it. By the time I got to work, everyone was all around the TV watching it, and it became apparent that it was a deliberate act, and I was watching it on TV when the second tower fell, which was horrifying. We all just stood there in silence, and there was this awful feeling that nothing was safe anymore and that people really wanted to hurt us. It was very weird and uneasy the rest of the day at work.”
