The college possibilities after high school are endless. Juniors, please join us for an evening designed to describe the college choices available to you and offer suggestions for the college process. College Information Night will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. in the NASH Auditorium. Parents and students, please join us as we hear from admission representatives who will share their knowledge about and tips for the college application process. The colleges represented that evening will be: Penn State University, Slippery Rock University, Northeastern University, Villanova University, University of Florida, and Carnegie Mellon University.

Pittsburgh will be hosting a National College Fair at the David Lawrence Convention Center on Thursday, February 6 and Friday, February 7. Visit CollegeFairGuide.com for all the details.

There will be a few college visits to NASH next week while the representatives are in town. Sign up on your Naviance account to meet with the college reps.

Attention students going to see Little Shop of Horrors this week.

Our show date is Wednesday, January 29th. Please attend part of period 1, then leave from class at 7:50.  Meet in the NASH cafeteria foyer before boarding the bus at 8:00 AM. Please bring money for breakfast. We’ll be stopping at eat on our way to the theater, around 8:30 AM. Please dress up for the field trip!

Plan to attend period 11 upon our return. Stop by room 249A if you have any questions.

Time is running out to purchase a 2020 NASH Safari Yearbook.  The last day to order a yearbook will be Friday, January 31.

Ordering a yearbook now is the only way to guarantee you will have a yearbook. Yearbooks can be purchased at www.yearbookforever.com.  Be sure to select NASH, not NAI. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Yakich, Mr. Truesdell, or Mrs. Smith.

Attention seniors:  Senior t-shirts are still on sale in room 313 for $15 (cash or check written out to NASH) but supplies are getting low.  As of yesterday, we have sold out of Mediums and Larges. We still have smalls, extra large and double XL. Get yours before they are gone!  You can stop in any time up through homeroom or after school.

Take some time to read the kind and thoughtful Post-it notes outside of the auditorium. A few of the junior students, who were working on their Pay it Forward project, wrote kind, uplifting messages for the stress of midterms and making it to the halfway point in the school year. It is great to see positivity spreading.

The NA GSA is meeting this Wednesday after school in Room 252 at NASH. The GSA is a non-judgmental, safe, nurturing, and affirming place for students of all genders and sexual orientations. For more information, contact us at [email protected].

Do you have books stacking up from when you were a kid? The NA Interact Club is collecting new or gently used children’s books to benefit the students at Grandview Elementary School.  Books can be dropped off starting now until February 11th in boxes at the GOAL office, front vestibule, and athletic entrance.

Attention NASH Juniors: The Benjamin Franklin Scholar Award Essay Contest has opened! There are great monetary prizes for this contest. 1st place – $6000, 2nd place – $4000, 3rd place – $2000. Stop by the NASH GOAL Office, or go to Blackboard, to find this year’s prompt. Drafts must be submitted to Mrs. Lombardi in room 249A by Wednesday, February 12th.

Are you interested in learning how to twirl a baton?   Do you want to become a North Allegheny Majorette? The North Allegheny Majorette Mini-Camp is where you need to be.   The mini-camp is open to grades K-11 and will be held on Wednesday nights beginning February 5th at Ingomar Elementary School.   Registration will be at Ingomar Elementary School on Wednesday, January 22nd and 29th from 6-8 PM.
