The Power of Music and Education

Whether you listen to music while you’re studying or not, everyone can agree that music is extremely impactful. It can dictate the type of day you’re having, good or bad, and can drastically change your outlook on existence for a day or more. Music has been shown to release endorphins, and induce creativity. So, why not listen to music while studying? I sat down with 12 random students here at NASH and got their opinion about whether music helps studying or not, and what songs or genres in particular go together. My questions were simple: “Do you listen to music?” “What music do you listen to in particular?” “Best subjects to listen to music while studying?” and “Worst subjects to listen to music while studying?” Their opinions differ greatly, and it’s important to show this diversity. Not everyone has the same taste, but maybe what we do like can help us all get along.
