We all know the crunch of having to get a homecoming dress that checks all the boxes: looks good, within a budget, and fits us well. So, we decided to help you out by visiting different shops at different price ranges to try and find the perfect dress.

Last week we covered thrift shops.  Now, it’s time for department stores!

We visited three different stores at Ross Park Mall— Macy’s, JCPenney, and Nordstrom — to find the best dresses.  So whether you’re looking for convenience or hoping for mid-range prices, here’s our take on department stores for Homecoming.

Alex: This is a really pretty dress, but the color is a little dull. Fun glitter, though!

Nisha: I don’t mind the color or the glitter, but I just hated the length. Is it because I’m short? Yup. Am I still mad about it? Yup.

Amanda: It’s a little long.

In conclusion, going to a department store for a homecoming dress could totally work if you’re willing to put in the time and effort.  It can be a little pricey at times, but you’ll find a large variety of dresses and sizes to pick from.
