Is it smart to go to college on the West or East coast? ~Indecisive
Josie: Don’t focus on what coast. Instead, focus more on what the school has to offer and the education you can receive.
Lea: East Coast all the way.
How short is too short for shorts/dresses at school? ~JustWondering
Josie: You do you! Wear whatever you want as long as your tush is not hanging out. Just be modest and know what is right for you. You are your biggest critic, so if you find yourself asking, “Eh, is this too short? Should I put something else on?” then yes, you probably should. If you are questioning your outfit, others at school may be, too.
Lea: Dresses above mid-thigh are getting a little risque, in my opinion, but as long as your shorts completely cover your derriere and a little extra thigh then you should be fine. But isn’t it a little cold out to still be wearing shorts?
First time in swimming, what do I really need? ~Drowning
Josie: Essentials: Swimsuit and towel. Non-essentials: Goggles, flip flops, swim cap, shower supplies, brush, and makeup. Do not be afraid to overdo it. Although you do not have much time to get ready in between classes, you can never be over-prepared. If you want to attempt to shower after swimming, then go for it! If you want to reapply all of your makeup, then go for that, too! Take it from my personal experience: It is better to be over-prepared than under-prepared.
Lea: A good attitude, and if all else fails, use your free day.
How do I balance my social life and my education? ~Help
Josie: That is one tough question. I find myself struggling a lot with this as social opportunities and my amount of homework rise. I often ask myself, “Should I go to the boys’ soccer game or complete my Statistics homework?” It is hard to pick which to do, but oftentimes both can get done. Try creating a schedule where you have time to do both. In my case, I could do my homework before the game or do my homework at the game. But in other instances, you should do your homework and studying advance. It is easy to say, but hard to do: Do not procrastinate! It will lead to a more balanced life and less stress overall for you.
Lea: Focus on school, but always remember to allot yourself time to spend with friends and doing other things you enjoy. Although grades are important, there is more to life other than just being an A+ student.
How can I get Josie Wadlow to go out with me? ~YourSecretAdmirer
Josie: Do not even try. She is a weirdo.
Lea: You’ll have to go through her security detail first. She is our President now.
