There are many rivalries in this world, but one that is extremely popular is Marvel vs DC Comics. Both of these entertainment companies never disappoint with the films they put out and continue to generate large amounts of money while doing so.

Just recently, both companies put out new hit films. Spider-Man: No Way Home, a Marvel film, released on December 17th, 2021 and reached a box office number of 1.877 billion USD. Being extremely successful, fans were extremely pleased with the overall presentation of Spider-Man and were looking for a comeback from DC Comics. 

And they were given exactly what they asked for. Matt Reeves’s The Batman recently released on March 4, 2022, and people cannot stop talking about it. Unlike Spider-Man, The Batman was not a continuation of another Batman movie and had a new storyline that was extremely thrilling and intense. 

Even though the film includes a lot of suspense and thrilling scenes, director Matt Reeves does not fail to capture the romance element needed in films. Selina Kyle, an expert thief played by Zoe Kravitz, encounters Batman in several scenes as they eventually work together to save her friend. As the film progresses, they get to know each other better and become very close partners. 

The movie, just like every Batman movie, takes place in Gotham City, where crime is common and peace non-existent. Batman, played by Robert Pattinson, does his best in trying to stop all the bad that happens in the city. 

However, the Riddler, a creepy supervillain played by Paul Dano, has a plan to destroy Gotham City by exposing the secrets of Gotham’s dishonesty and targeting those who are involved. He proceeds to leave a series of cryptic clues throughout the film for Batman to decipher while keeping the people of Gotham City safe. 

Eventually, the Riddler’s identity is exposed, but capturing him does not exactly save Gotham City. His plan to destroy Gotham City was planned so well that it was executed while he was held in prison. While in prison, a scene between him and Batman takes place and many call it the best part of the movie.

Batman, as he is told the last clue in person for the first time, knows that Gotham City is in for a lot of trouble and chaos. It is up to him to save and bring justice to the city that is used to these types of crimes and mysteries.

Will he be able to save the city of Gotham? Well, you can only find out by going to the nearest local theater and purchasing a ticket for this masterpiece. 

Matt Reeves’s The Batman is a fantastic movie filled with suspense that gets you on the edge of your seat. It is definitely one you do not want to miss out on.
