I have been teaching for 27 years in total, but 24 years at NA.
What is your favorite course to teach?
Business Communication
What is your biggest pet peeve in the classroom?
Seeing kids using their cell phones during class time
If you were not a teacher, what profession would you enjoy working in?
I would be an entrepreneur or a business owner. I’d like to own a hospitality and/or engagement business.
You had two sons come through NASH. What was it like to teach in the building while they were here?
There are advantages and disadvantages, but I think being able to see them every day at some point, even just passing them in the halls, was something that most parents do not get, so I found it wonderful.
What was it like playing college football at Pitt?
Even though it was a long time ago, it was a great experience more so for the connections and the network I created than the actual football. I believed that I used it to the highest potential to benefit myself.

Where is the best vacation spot you have ever visited?
Southern Caribbean on a cruise with my entire family.

I would bring my fishing pole, a fire starter, and duct tape.

What is one piece of advice you would give to NASH students?
Put yourself out there. Never be afraid to be uncomfortable. Great things often happen when you least expect it.
