As the doors of NASH opened to students on Thursday, August 22, juniors and seniors could not avoid feeling a bit nervous.
“It is going to be difficult having to do math at 7:30 am, and balancing school work with my job,” he said.Junior Jacob Neff thought that his morning classes would present a challenge because his brain isn’t fully awake in the early hours of the day.
Neff, along with many other students at NASH, works part-time during the week and finds it difficult to balance work and school with having time for himself.
But the school year is here, and the Tigers are back and eager to take on the opportunities and challenges that NASH offers.
As the school year starts, both juniors and seniors have new and exciting goals ahead of them.
Seniors can look forward to their next step in the world, whether that is college, trade school, or anything else that they may endeavor to pursue. Juniors can now anticipate spending the next two years at NASH following their years at NAI.
Even with all the exciting things to come for students, several challenges are unavoidable at the beginning of the school year, such as getting your body back on schedule, waking up early, preparing your mind to learn in the early morning, and having to balance school with activities outside of school.
Senior Ben Stover said that the transition from summer to school this year was different from all the other years, knowing that this will be his last year at NA.
“It felt different this year knowing that this is my last year and that next year I won’t be coming back doing the same routine next year,” Stover said.
Junior Wynn Cunningham was nervous on the first day of school. Would he like all of his teachers? Would he have friends in his classes? Would any of his classes be very hard?
After day one, however, Cunningham said was relieved.
“I had the same worries that I had transitioning into every new school year, but it ended up working out,” he said.
