Student Council is hosting a Canned Food Drive running from November 11th to the 15th. All donations will go directly to North Hill Food Bank. Donations can be given through canned food or cash donations with each dollar being counted as two cans. Cans and cash should be brought down to the STUCO table set up outside of the main office during homeroom everyday. At the end of the week the homeroom with the most cans will receive a coffee and donut breakfast. Please donate and help a great cause!

The NHS Fall Blood Drive is Tuesday November 26, and there is an urgent need for blood donations! You can sign up and donate blood in person with Vitalant at school on Tuesday, November 26. Signups for the in-person Blood Drive start this week, November 11-18, during lunch periods. ALL NASH students and staff 16 and older can sign up to donate if they are eligible. NHS members can receive 1 service hour for registering to donate blood. For more information about eligibility or questions, visit the Blood Drive Sign Up table during your lunch period.

Feminaid is a new club dedicated to addressing critical, yet underfunded, female health issues through raising awareness and organizing fundraisers. Our mission is to empower women through education and support. Join us through the QR codes on the flyers around school to get on the email list. Our first introductory meeting is this Wednesday, November 13th after school, in room 365. There will be snacks provided so bring your friends!

Attention NASH writers and artists: What do Andy Warhol, Sylvia Plath, and Stephen King have in common? They were all winners of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards! This contest has an impressive legacy dating back to 1923. It has grown to become the longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative artists and writers in the U.S. The deadlines for submission are coming up soon. The writing deadline is December 12th. The art deadline is January 7th. Stop by 249A if you have questions about the Writing contest. See your art teacher for information about the Art Awards.

Students are encouraged to sign up to take the ASVAB Test at NASH on Monday, November 18 in The Place. Please stop by the NASH Main Office to register for the test before the end of the day THIS THURSDAY. The ASVAB exam is an aptitude test designed to help students align their strengths and helps predict future academic and occupational success. The test takes about three hours and includes 200 items. The team here at NASH feels that the ASVAB will give students the best direction possible when planning what they would like to do after high school. Stop down to the NASH Main Office with any questions.
