Every year Carnegie Mellon hosts a computer hacking competition called PICO-ctf. It is a really hard contest, and it is hard to know where to start if you are not already a great coder. Here is an in: TODAY, Carnegie Mellon is sending a team of people to help you learn how to enter the contest if you are just beginning, or how to advance levels if you already know what you are doing. You have to sign up with Mrs. Ruffolo in the GOAL office to attend. It will be during 2nd period TODAY, so see her RIGHT NOW in Room 249 A if you are interested. You can also email her to sign up for the PICO-ctf.

Save the dates, NASH! Winter Wonderland decorating will take place after school on Friday, December 13. Also, the last week before the Winter Break will be a Spirit Week, so stay tuned for details. And finally, on the morning of Friday, December 20, Student Council will be serving free hot chocolate before school. Winter Break begins on December 21st!

Attention NASH writers and artists: What do Andy Warhol, Sylvia Plath, and Stephen King have in common? They were all winners of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative artists and writers in the U.S. The deadlines for submission are coming up soon. The writing deadline is December 12th. The art deadline is January 7th. Stop by 249A if you have questions about the Writing contest. See your art teacher for information about the Art Awards.
