As the months roll by on the North Allegheny school calendar, seniors are making college decisions. Although May 1st is the deadline for college plans, some NASH 12th graders have already made a choice on where they will be spending their next four years.
Many seniors are wanting to stay closer to home. Tatum Hunter, for example, has committed to Kent State.
“I am studying fashion and design, and I’m very excited to be creative and have fun being myself,” Hunter said.
Colin Joyce will be attending West Virginia University.
“They have a great engineering program and that’s what I will be majoring in when I go,” Joyce said.
Tessa Duchi found that one local school fits all of her needs.
“I will be attending Pitt Greensburg to study radiology,” she said. “The main campus does not offer classes for Radiology, so I’m excited to get the chance to study what I want and as well I will be playing soccer.”
Many athletes from NA are planning to continue playing sports in college.
Heading to the East coast, Addison Hammond will be attending Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ.
“I’m studying biology, and I picked Rowan because when I toured it I really loved the campus and the location being close to Philadelphia and New York,” stated Hammond. “I loved the coach and the players too because I will also be playing soccer.”
Heading south, Lexi Cervone will enroll at the University Of Kentucky.
“I’m going to be studying human health sciences,” Cervone said. “I am excited to go to Kentucky because I love the feel of the campus and everything about it. It’s super nice, and I’m excited to meet new people.”
But not all seniors have made their final decisions.
“My two top choices are Pitt and Case Western Reserve,” Josie Daltorio said. “It’s hard to decide on where I want to go. It’s a really hard decision, but I’m still excited for what’s ahead no matter what.”
With their final semester of high school underway, the Class of 2025 will soon face new challenges and greater responsibilities, but college will hopefully also offer much enjoyment.
