Attention Seniors: Prom tickets went on sale this morning and will be sold before and after school every school day this week and all day this Thursday April 18th. All the important info can be found on the NASH homepage. Prom table reservations will be taken on Thursday April 18th all day from 7:00 – 2:30 in the auditorium foyer as well. All tickets must have been purchased by the table members ahead of time and names of each party member and their ticket numbers will be needed to reserve a table. Tables can fit up to 10 people. Students who do not reserve a table by 2:30 on the 18th will be filled in around the room based on the discretion of Mrs. Perry or Mr. Grater. For more updates throughout the next nine weeks on all senior related activities, follow Mrs. Perry @perryshan21 or Mr. Grater @grats24. Once again, ticket Sale times in the Auditorium Foyer will be April 16 and April 17 Before School 7:00-7:25 and After School 2:15 – 2:45 and ticket sales and table reservations will be on April 18 All Day from 7:00 – 2:30.

Get ready for some Spikeball! NASH is holding a spikeball tournament on May 18th at Newman Stadium from 5-10pm. Signups are next week from April 21st-27th. All proceeds benefit Hearts for Homeless. You can find the registration link on the flyers throughout the building. Grab a friend and practice up!

Attention Seniors: The Post Prom Parents are in need of your parents help and donations to make this year’s post prom a success. Without the help of the majority, the Post Prom couldn’t possibly be as fabulous as it has been in the past, please encourage your parents to reach out and lend a helping hand.

TigerThon 2019 may be over, but the fight against Pediatric Cancer is not! If you are a current junior who is interested in further supporting the fight against Pediatric Cancer, consider joining the Lending Hearts Junior Council. Lending Hearts is a Pittsburgh nonprofit organization that supports children and young adults who are battling cancer by providing monthly family activities and administering a wellness program at Children’s Hospital. If you are interested in increasing your leadership skills and supporting this important cause, please visit the Lending Hearts website for application guidelines. You can also contact Anna Betler, Richie Carr, or Eliza Toomey with any questions. All applications are due by May 1st.

Join the NA GSA for an Easter Egg hunt this Wednesday after school!! Room 252 at NASH. The egg hunt begins at 2:45! The GSA is a safe, non-judgmental space for students of all genders and sexual orientations.

Seniors interested in trying out for one of the 2019 commencement speaker spots, please carefully pay attention to the following information. Prepare a typed 3-5 min speech. Submit to Mr. Truesdell, in Room 221, by Thursday, April 18th before 2:20 PM. Additional pertinent information is posted outside Room 221.

Fall Play Auditions for Next Year’s fall production will take place on Tuesday, April 30 from 2:30-5 in Rm 221. All students interested in auditioning should prepare a comedic monologue. See Mr. Truesdell in Room 221 for details.

Attention Seniors attending LaRoche University or CCAC in the Fall, stop down to the Counseling Office to pick up an application for the McCandless Industrial Development Authority Scholarship. The due date for submission is Wednesday, April 24, so don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity.

PA DECA is Sponsoring a Sports & Entertainment Conference on Friday, May 3, from 5:00 – 9:30 p.m., at PNC Park. The cost is $28, but NA DECA will pay $10 towards the fee for the first 25 people to sign up and pay. The fee included the conference, a Pirates game, plus a value menu and all you can eat peanuts, popcorn, and sodas! A commitment is needed no later than Tuesday the close of school. You can get more details, and sign up using the Google Form link. Don’t delay!

The McCandless Town Council has instituted a “Junior Councilperson Program”. All interested incoming Junior or Seniors can find more information and an application for appointment in the school counseling office. Deadline for applications is Monday, April 22nd.

The Allegheny Intermediate Unit’s Career Connections Program consists of 1 to 4 daylong learning experiences during the school year in 18 different career fields–everything from A (Architecture) to Z (Zoo Animal Care). The program provides for hands-on, behind-the-scenes experiences and gives students the opportunity to make connections with organizations and people who can help them as they pursue their career choices. Juniors are now able to apply for the 2019-2020 AIU Career Connections program. If interested, students must follow a 3-step application process which includes completing the online application, obtaining a teacher recommendation, and mailing fees and paperwork. Stop by the GOAL Office to learn more about the opportunities and how to apply for them.
