“I was a freshman in college, and I first heard that something was happening as I was walking to my international relations class. A young woman was walking past me on the path to class, asking if I had heard what happened. I just thought to myself, ‘Oh, that’s weird,’ and continued on my way to class. As I got to my class, my professor had the news on and the entire class was watching as the second plane hit. The idea of everyone around me feeling so vulnerable in a way that we had never imagined was really scary. There were a lot of people that were trying their best to look out for each other and to figure out what was happening.”
