Here is your BSU Black History Month Fact of the Week! Have you ever wondered how Black History Month came about? In 1926, Carter G. Woodson, an African American historian and the “father of Black history,” set out to designate a time to promote and educate people about Black history and culture. Black History Month is celebrated in February to commemorate the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. In 1976, President Gerald Ford declared February to be Black History Month.

Attention Senior Athletes or Band Members: The North Allegheny Unified Boosters Organization scholarship deadline is quickly approaching. Any senior who has participated in a varsity sport or the marching band is eligible to apply to receive scholarship money. Application information for the UBO Scholarships can be found on the NA Athletic website under the “FOR ATHLETES” tab. All applications must be submitted to Mr. Bozzuto in the Athletic Office no later than Friday, March 31st, at noon.

Attention Seniors: The Class of 2023 North Allegheny Pre-Tuition Scholarship informational sheet and applications are now available through Naviance or through the Counseling Office. Please submit a copy of the completed application and a copy of the Student Aid Report page reflecting the EFC amount from your FAFSA filing to the Principal’s Office no later than Friday, March 24.

The North Allegheny Federation of Teachers is pleased to announce the Future Educator Scholarship, offering up to two $2,500 scholarships to NA Seniors who plan to enter the elementary or secondary teaching profession.
