NASH seniors Reilly Spitz and Sam Lopuszynski are together on Student Council, together on stage for the spring musical, and together together.

What are your roles and responsibilities as members of Student Council?

Reilly: I am the Publicity Director of Student Council and the head of the Dance Committee. As Publicity Director, I create and distribute all advertisements that meet the eyes of students. As Dance Committee Head, I organize and budget for Homecoming and Morp.

Sam: I am the president of Student Council. I create agendas, lead the meetings, and supervise all committees.

Do you have any prior experience being a council member?

Reilly: I have done Student Council since 7th grade. During that time I was Publicity Director.

Sam: I have been in Student Council since sixth grade, and I’ve been the president twice and vice-president once.

How long have you two been together as a couple?

A little over a year.

Have you ever had any disagreements with decisions regarding StuCo?

Reilly: No.

Sam: Nope.

What other activities do you take part in outside of the StuCo?

Reilly: I am in chamber choir, chamber orchestra, NHS, and Italian Club.

Sam: I am in chamber choir, chamber orchestra, and NHS. Outside of school, I enjoy fishing, biking, watching movies, and reading.

What are your roles in the upcoming spring musical, Sweeney Todd?

Reilly: Beggar Woman

Sam: I am playing Sweeney Todd.

What is a fun fact about you people would be surprised to know?

Reilly: I’m color blind.

Sam: I love woodworking.

What is your dream job?

Reilly: I’m studying pharmacy next year, and I’m very excited about it!

Sam: I’d like to work outside–something in environmental science or forestry, I think.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Reilly: Italy!!!

Sam: I think I would either go to Italy or Poland.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what would be your three essentials to survive? 

Reilly: Sunscreen, water, and lip gloss

Sam: Record player, beef jerkey, and whittling tools

She decided to take journalism because she wanted to put her writing skills into greater use beyond English essays. Gracie also participates in the NA musicals and is a past actress of the NAI plays. Outside of Journalism and extracurricular activities, she enjoys going out with her friends and spending time with her family.
