How do you do so many leadership roles at once?
I try to prioritize my roles well and delegate smaller tasks to other people so I can focus on the big tasks.
What is something surprising about you?
My family owns a restaurant.
What is your most memorable moment in any activity?
Raising over 35,000 dollars for pediatric cancer or winning a state championship.
What motivated you to take on so many leadership roles?
The desire to help those in need. I am so fortunate to have grown up in a loving home and thriving school district, so I feel the need to give back to those who are not as fortunate as me.
Were there moments where it felt like too much–and how did you push through?
Yesssss. 100%. The thing that kept me going was not wanting to let anyone down. I signed up for these roles, so I need to give 110% to those who are counting on me.
What is your biggest takeaway from being involved in these activities?
Surround yourself with people who will get the work done, because if you don’t, then you will be drowning in tasks to complete.
What does being Captain of TigerThon mean to you?
It means that I get to give families around the world hope for their child and reassurance that people are fighting for them.
As Student Council President, what are you most proud of accomplishing this year?
I am always very proud of the Canned Food Drive, but this year I am most proud of the student lounge we assembled because now students have a place to decompress and relax with their friends after a long school day.
What’s your favorite memory from leading the Student Section?
Running up and down the bleachers with Viví DelVecchio. It was so scary, but so fun.
What was your favorite part of being in the musical, and how was it different from your athletic and leadership experiences?
My favorite part about being in the musical was the amazing people I met and being able to express myself through music. It was definitely different from my athletic and leadership experiences because I didn’t have to be in charge or dive after a ball, but I could relax and sing my heart out.
Did winning the state championship in volleyball impact your mindset in your other roles?
Yes, it gave me a never-give-up attitude because there were times when we could have lost many games, but instead we dug deep and worked our butts off to win.
