Super Bowl Top 5

The commercials were among the highlights of the evening. Here are the best.

Hannah Shiflett

Super Bowl LIV marked the culmination of this season in football, but we all know what else it meant family gatherings, tables full of food, wagers, halftime extravagance, and, of course, commercials.  The football part of the tradition lasted since the Super Bowl premiered in 1967 (when the Green Bay Packers won), but in later decades the commercials in between the action on the field have gained as much attention.

This year, the Super Bowl was won by the Kansas City Chiefs ,with 31-20 over the San Fransisco 49ers. Premiering at the halftime were Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, who delivered a stellar performance. Additionally, the commercials were some of the major highlights of the night. Here I present what I believe to be the top five commercials of Super Bowl LIV.

5.Cheetos

In the Cheetos commercial, a young man finds his power in being lazy when his Cheeto-covered fingers are too covered to perform any work. This leads him to the point of not being able to perform any task and more often than not making others who need his help grow upset with his laziness.

4.Doritos

Starring in the Doritos commercial is a new artist, Lil Nas X, and actor Sam Elliot, who come to a standoff in an old western town. But instead of holding guns as their tool of quick execution, it is the dancing that is used.

3.Baby Peanut

In the Baby Peanut commercial, the series had actually started when Mr. Peanut passed away by falling his to death, leaving viewers on a cliff-hanger (literally) before the Super Bowl came out with the second part, which resulted in the rebirth of Mr. Peanut when Kool-aid man attends his funeral and brings him back to life with his tears.

2. Groundhog

Since the Super Bowl premiered on Groundhog Day, Bill Murray starred in the Jeep commercial, reliving a scene from the movie Groundhog Day.  Comical events from skiing and driving around with an actual groundhog are premiered throughout the whole commercial.

1. Genesis

In the car commercial starring John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen, the power couple portrayed themselves as hosting guests at their house. Teigen walks down the stairs and comically shows off her new Genesis car with her husband, John Legend.
