Take turns in the parking lot
Everybody knows the school parking lots at NASH can be a mess, especially as soon as the bell rings at 2:15 and everybody is rushing to get out. While exiting the main lot, the right thing to do is to take turns letting cars from the different lanes get to the exit.

Don’t park in someone else’s spot
Although parking spots are not technically assigned, students are quick to make one their own. With limited parking, especially in the main lot, it can already be stressful to park at 7:00 A.M. Taking someone’s usual spot can easily cause tension and may cause some unnecessary drama.

Don’t take stuff from the lost and found that’s not yours
The lost-and-found bin outside the Main Office is there for students looking for one of their possessions that they misplaced. It’s not a shopping center for anyone who comes by.

Don’t switch your lunch table randomly
Everybody knows, especially when you are weeks into the school year, that students have claimed their lunch table. For the first week of school, the cafeteria can be seen as fair game, but after that you have to stick with where you decided to sit. Taking someone’s table can come across as intrusive and inconsiderate.

Don’t take up the whole stairway whether you’re walking up or down
Stairways can be very chaotic, especially during passing periods. When some people are walking with their friends, they walk side to side. This can be okay if you are on the wider main staircases, but if you are on the narrow side staircases, you’re blocking other people from walking up or down. It just makes you seem careless toward anyone who is trying to get to class quickly.

Don’t stop and talk to someone in the middle of the halls
If you want to say hello to a friend in the hallway, sure, go fo it, but either move to the side or walk with them. Stopping in the middle of the hallway and blocking everybody else who’s just trying to get to class is particularly annoying.

Never remind the teacher about homework
This could be considered the most important rule on this list, considering it’s one of the easiest ways to aggravate everybody in your class. Reminding a teacher about homework easily makes you the least likeable student in class.

Don’t hog the bathroom sinks and mirrors
The bathrooms are for everyone. If someone needs to wash their hands, do not stand at the mirror, fixing your makeup or hair, especially if all the sinks are full.

Stay in your grade section during the football games
Student sections are divided by grades for a reason. Everybody knows that freshmen are in the back, then sophomores, then juniors, and finally seniors, who sit in the front. If you’re a younger student and an upperclassmen tells you to move back, you need to move back.

Always press “complete” on the vending machines
The vending machines are quite popular with students here. Be careful, though, to press “complete” when finished paying or else someone behind you can quickly swoop in and use your card to make purchases for themselves.
Be sure to follow all these simple rules and life at NASH will be a breeze!
