My friends want me to go out with them on Thanksgiving night for Black Friday, but my mom wants me to stay home. What should I do? – Indie Cisive

Josie: Stay home for sure. While Black Friday offers great prices on valuable things, family time is most valuable. The cheap clothes and 50% off phone case you have been waiting to buy can wait to be purchased. In your lifetime there will be numerous more Black Fridays to go to, but for now, try staying home to relax and create long lasting memories with your family.

Lea: Thanksgiving is meant to be spent with family, not shopping for things you really don’t need. Tell your friends no and enjoy your Thanksgiving crazy crowd free.

What is the bare minimum amount of time I should spend with my extended family over the holidays? -Fuller

Josie: A few hours is sufficient enough.

Lea: As much time as possible. You only get to see them so much and should appreciate them while they are visiting.

Is wearing PJs to school okay? -Comfy

Josie: Yes, PJs are completely fine to wear to school, especially in the winter. No one will judge you because in this icebox of a school, we are all trying to stay warm and cozy!

Lea: Maybe not PJs per se, but comfy sweats are always a good option and especially a good choice for a cold winter day.

I have so many after school activities that my schedule has gotten out of control. How do I choose what I should cut down on? -Out of Control

Josie: I would figure out what activities mean the most to you and will be most beneficial. You do not want to be consumed with after-school activities and left without time for homework, sports, family, and friends. Your college resume will still look great and overall you will be happier.

Lea: Figure out which activities you enjoy attending the most and cut out the rest. Just because a bundle of clubs looks great for college, it does not mean it is necessarily a great option for you or your schedule.

I absolutely cannot stand Shakespeare! How am I going to pass my English class if I can’t understand what’s going on in the book we’re reading? -MacBarf

Josie: Taking your time when reading Shakespeare is key. Do not rush through the assigned reading just to get it over with. If you take the time to pick apart the literature and read at a slower pace, it will most likely make more sense. If that does not seem to get the job done, then try looking on an online site for help. However, do not make the mistake of fully relying on the online resource, because it will hurt you in the end. Read the Shakespeare first and then read the online source.

Lea: This perceived inability to understand the fine art of Shakespeare doth not lend itself well to thee, I suppose? Try finding an online resource that goes line by line explaining the meaning and you’ll find yourself not only getting better at understanding what you are reading, but also maybe even enjoying it!
