Pitt commit Jasmine Timmerson looks forward to competing in the ACC, but not before leading the currently undefeated NA girls to another state title.

Manas Kathir, Staff Writer

How old were you when you started playing basketball?

Around four years old.

How did you know that basketball was meant for you?

I grew up in a huge basketball family. My dad and brother always played, so it kind of just happened naturally.

Why did you choose the University of Pittsburgh to continue your basketball career?

A lot of things led me to Pitt, but their coaching staff played a huge role in my decision.

What are you going to be studying at the University of Pittsburgh?

I haven’t decided yet.

How many hours do you play basketball every week?

If I had to guess I’d say somewhere around 20 hours.

What is your usual pregame routine before games?

I don’t really have one, but I always get a smoothie from Smoothie King.

What are your goals for the next two years while being on the NA Basketball Team?

I want to win two more WPIAL championships and hopefully another state title.

What do you look forward to the most at Pitt?

Playing in the ACC or being able to play in front of my family.

What was the recruitment process like?

It was pretty fun for the most part, but it got super overwhelming at times.

Who is your favorite athlete?

Kevin Durant

Who has been your favorite teammate to play with at North Allegheny?

That’s super hard, but Lizzy Groetsch and Paige Morningstar are at the top of the list.

Did you ever play any other sports in your childhood?

I played soccer but stopped around 5th grade.

If a game is on the line and you need a three-pointer to win, would you want yourself or your brother (Grant Timmerson)  to take the last shot?

Easy, I’m shooting it.

Who has had the biggest impact on your basketball career?

My dad. He always coached me growing up.
