Attention Seniors: Now that you know what you are going to be for Halloween, it’s time to make sure you have everything you need to have a prize-winning costume.  If you are interested in a chance to win a free ticket to the 2024 Senior Banquet on the Gateway Clipper or a free 2024 Senior T-shirt, wear your best, most creative costume to school tomorrow and get your picture taken in Room 313 before school between 7:00 am and 7:20 am or during homeroom to be entered into the contest.  Full face make-up, costume masks and play weapons are not allowed at school.  Please keep this in mind.  A secret panel of teachers will be doing the judging and winners will be announced on Thursday, November 2nd.  We can’t wait to see what you have decided on. See you bright and early in room 313!

Attention students: ASVAB Testing will be offered at NASH on Wednesday, November 22nd, at 7:30 a.m. in The Place. Please stop by the NASH Main Office to register for the test before the end of the day Monday, November 20th.  The ASVAB exam measures a student’s developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success.  The test takes about three hours and includes 200 items. The ASVAB tests a student’s mathematics knowledge, word knowledge, paragraph comprehension, and more. Historically, the ASVAB has been given the stereotype of the “military entrance exam”.  While the test does provide a score for interested students to enlist in the military, it does not automatically mean students are military bound. The ASVAB allows students to explore a full spectrum of occupations in line with their interests and skills whether they are college, trade school, military, or work force bound. With our ever-changing workforce, the team here at NASH feels the ASVAB will give students the best direction possible when planning what they would like to do after high school. Test scores will not be released to the military unless students or families grant permission to do so and the test is free of charge. For further information, contact Lt. Col. Accamando, Senior Aerospace Instructor for the NA Air Force Junior ROTC Program, at [email protected].

The cross country team will be running its annual shoe drive from now until November 1st.  They are helping out a non-profit called Souls4Soles whose goal is to help give shoes to those in developing countries. Shoes in any condition can be donated, even single pairs. Members of NHS and Key Club can also receive one hour for donating a single pair.
