138 DECA members competed at the DECA State CDC held in Hershey last month. Congratulations to the 32 NASH students who qualified for the ICDC nationals, which will be held in Orlando, Florida, in late April! Sarah Zhao, Leo Yu, and Andrew Li were triple medallion winners! Yuki Quin was elected as the District 2 Representative. NA was also recognized for meeting their membership goal and is the fourth largest DECA chapter in the state!  They also achieved the highest level for the Plan of Action!

Attention NASH: It is Spread the Word:  Inclusion Week!  During all lunch periods on Wednesday, March 6th, you can take the pledge to make the world more inclusive.  Additionally, for $3.00 – cash only – you can purchase a Plinko chip and win a prize.  There are gift cards, parking passes, keychains and NA/Spread the Word gear.  Every chip wins something!

There will be a 3v3 basketball tournament in support of The Children’s Heart Foundation during the school day on March 22. Limited spots are available for the tournament, so sign up now using the QR code on flyers throughout the school or the link found in an email from Mr. Karolski. Late sign-ups are open until March 8 for $25 per person. All proceeds go toward The Children’s Heart Foundation, directly supporting a student at McKnight who was born with congenital heart disease. The cost also includes a team T-shirt!

Juniors eligible for National Honor Society were emailed a candidate letter on February 14th. Completed Candidate Packets are due March 11 by 2:30pm. If you are a junior with a 3.9500+ cumulative weighted GPA and did not receive an emailed letter about NHS, please contact Mrs. Oliver and Mr. Tengowski.

Trying to decide what to do after high school?  Wish you could learn more about the many careers that exist? We have just the thing for you!  The GOAL Office will host a series of lunchtime conversations with career professionals in a multitude of fields. These sessions are open to all students and will occur during lunch periods through March 15th in the PLACE. If you wish to learn more or sign up, head to the Career Conversations website which can be accessed through the NASH Student Information Bb page or via the QR code on flyers in the hallway.  Stop by the GOAL Office, 249A, with questions.

Do you have a passion for creative writing, art or photography? Do you want to have your work published in a magazine? Submissions for VARIATIONS, NASH’s literary and arts magazine, are currently open! Submissions will be open until the day before spring break, March 22nd. If you would like to submit, please use the QR code on any of our posters.

Gathering Hope is collecting body wash, shampoo, and deodorant for Outreached Arms, which is a non-profit organization that serves the homeless and poor population of Pittsburgh.  Monetary donations will also be accepted.  Please drop off all donations to Mrs. Prosser in room 369 by March 22

Attention students interested in taking AP Exams.  Late registration is still open with monetary penalties and will close THIS FRIDAY. The AP registration process is a two-step process. Please visit the NASH School Counseling Site for more information or speak to your AP teacher to get registered before the deadline.

Attention Seniors:  The Class of 2024 North Allegheny Pre-Tuition Scholarship informational sheet and applications are now available through Naviance or paper copy through the Counseling Office.  Please submit a copy of the completed application and a copy of the Student Aid Report page reflecting the EFC amount from your FAFSA filing to the Principal’s Office no later than Friday, April 5.
