The second Dance Club meeting will be held TODAY in the NAI lower gym from 2:45 to 4 PM to have some fun! There will be food. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Steele for more information.

Chess Club, Chess Club, Chess Club! Attention chess enthusiasts and novices alike! The first official Chess Club meeting will be held next Wednesday after school in room 232. Stop by and see what all the fuss is about…remember that’s room 232 on October 10th, after school. See Mr. Rhinehart for more details…Your move!

Through video conference and live streaming, you can meet with professionals from The Cleveland Clinic for lectures, interactive discussions, and career exploration.  On Tuesday, October 9th, we’ll connect with an Occupational Therapist to learn about the career field.  If interested, please register for the session by clicking on the link on your Blackboard announcements. You can download a permission form on Blackboard or pick up a form in the NASH GOAL Office, room 249A. The session runs from 9:00 -10:00 in the NASH “PLACE” attached to the library.

This fall, we are gathering a group of students and teachers to read The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. How can you get involved? Sign up to join the book club via Blackboard. Obtain a copy of the book. Read it! Participate in a Book Club discussion on October 11th in the NASH PLACE from 2:30 – 3:30. Consider donating a copy for the Get 1, Give 1 book drive. (Surplus copies will be donated to schools in need.) Stop by the GOAL Office for more information.

Would you like to learn about careers in communications: journalism, photojournalism, media law, broadcasting, or multimedia/web design?  Would you like to compete in student journalism contests? Would you like to participate in workshops with Point Park professors? If you answered YES to any of those questions, then please join us for High School Media Day at Point Park University on Friday, November 2nd. The cost of this field trip is $15.  The cost includes one or two workshops, a keynote speaker, a competition if you choose one, transportation, breakfast, and lunch. Please express your interest to Mrs. Lombardi in the GOAL Office, room 249A, by Friday, October 19th. You can sign up via the link on Blackboard or by stopping by the GOAL Office.

The NA Interact Club will have its first after school meeting TOMORROW.  We’ll start at 2:30 in the NASH PLACE—the room attached to the library. What is the Interact Club?  It is the high school branch of the Rotary Club whose motto is “service above self.” Interact provides you with an opportunity to complete projects, make connections, develop leadership and communication skills, and have fun! Come to the meeting on Wednesday to get involved.  You’ll learn about the club while we work on a service project for senior citizens at the Vincentian Nursing home.
