February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, and this week NASH will be making an effort to raise awareness about abuse in teenage relationships. Did you know that An average of 28% of high school and college students are assaulted by someone they are or were dating? All week, bracelets will be sold for $1 during lunch periods to raise money for the Women’s Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh. If you are in Key Club, you can get one donation hour for every five bracelets you buy. Please

support this organization and show your school spirit by buying the bracelets. Don’t forget we are having a Spirit Week to further raise awareness! Today’s theme is College Apparel Day, and tomorrow’s theme will be Orange Out.

NASH’s Biennial Prom Dress Collection is underway.  Please consider cleaning out your closet, or asking your sister to clean out hers, and get rid of those beautiful dresses that will never be worn again.  The donation drive will be running from February 11th through March 11th.  Come on now, you know you will never wear that dress again.  Give it another chance to hit the dance floor and make some girl really happy.  Please consider donating old prom gowns, accessories like jewelry or evening bags and dress shoes.  Tell your friends, their moms or anyone you can think of to spread the word. We could really the help to make someone’s evening special.  Prom donations can be dropped off in Mrs. Perry’s room 313.
