And now we turn it over to our NABA correspondent for an update on Week 1…

******

Hello NASH, and welcome to your first NABA news update of the season. Last Wednesday started with a bang, with teams 3 and 12 facing off. Starting off slowly, Brody Meyers took it away with no help from Anthony Varlotta, who missed 5 out of seven layups and forgot his jersey. Team 3 took the Dub, 47-20. We then had team 4 vs team 11. Team 4 kept the game close in the first half, with Themi Balouris playing great defense. But he was no match for the combined shooting power of Sam Graper, Noah Waldee, and Nate Spak. Team 11 won the game, 45-30. Teams 5 and 10 went head to head with Team 10’s Payton Wood laying down an early 7 points in the first 5 minutes, and Team 5’s Ryan “Bubbles” Burns destroying the rebound game and helping his team to victory, 56-34. But what I am more focused on is Bubbles’ cheering squad. Other wins this week included team 14 over team 1, Team 2 over team 13, Team 9 over team 6, And team 8 over team 7. After a number of close games in week one, the league title appears to be completely up for grabs.  Thanks, and have a great day, NASH!
